The Setting

The Whitewater Hotel sits directly on River Leven's banks in Backbarrow's Lakeland Village. Located one mile south of Lake Windermere near Ulverston, the spa features the Lake District's first Rasul Mud Temple, a genuinely unique Arabian thermal experience unavailable elsewhere in the region.

The indoor heated pool and outdoor jacuzzi overlook River Leven's flowing waters. The thermal circuit includes Turkish Hamam aromatherapy steam room, traditional sauna, and multi-sensory feature shower. Elemis spa treatments complete the wellness offering.

Complimentary Cascades access included for all hotel guests, with 10% discount on spa treatments. Day passes are available to public with Adults 18+ only throughout spa facilities.

The Luxurious Spa With Afternoon Tea (£60) includes a 30 minutes treatment of your choice plus afternoon tea. The Pure Pampering package (£90) upgrades to a full body Elemis massage with afternoon tea. For midweek visitors, the Weekday Escape (£90, Monday to Friday) offers two 30 minutes treatments plus afternoon tea or light lunch.

What is the Rasul Mud Temple at Whitewater Hotel & Leisure Club?

The Rasul Mud Temple at Whitewater Hotel & Leisure Club is an Arabian inspired steam room experience and the first of its kind in the Lake District. It uses mineral rich muds applied to different areas of the body, combined with therapeutic steam, to deeply cleanse and revitalise the skin. The treatment takes 45 minutes and is a genuinely unique wellness experience.

During the session, several types of mud specific to different parts of the body are applied to the skin. You then enter the Rasul steam room where the muds work together with the steaming heat to draw out impurities and nourish the skin. The experience finishes with a refreshing shower. Guests often describe feeling completely revitalised afterwards, with noticeably softer and cleaner skin.

The Rasul Mud Temple is available as a standalone treatment or as part of the Couples Retreat day pass package. For standalone bookings, you can find it in the treatments section.
